Security Overview - CCTV
Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) has been around for many years.
There were previously many drawbacks with the traditional CCTV
systems such as high maintenance, VCR machines being stolen in
burglaries, poor quality video due to lack of maintenance, and
the inability to have external notification at the time of an
event. Digital Video Management Systems (DVMS) solve all of these
as they are able to;
• Be stored in secure locations thereby avoiding theft of
the recorder itself.
• Have a digital hard disk that does not reduce quality
of video over time.
• Be virtually maintenance free.
• Give remote notification at the time of event.
The adoption of Digital Video Management Systems will ultimately
improve security for both business and residential premises and
brings parts of the security industry into the digital age.
